Vivify Tribe Founder 🌸 | Psychologist 🎓 | Change Catalyst for Business 💼 | Wellness Advocate 🧘♂️

Hi, my name is Nia MacKenzie. I am a psychologist with a background in the impact of stressful life events on physical well-being and the practical applications of psychology in the workplace.
Through my blog – Vivify Tribe, I aim to explore the profound connections between mind, body, and soul. I explore alternative healing topics through the lens of traditional psychology with the aim of unraveling the therapeutic potential of these practices and sharing the insights and experiences that will empower individuals to find holistic well-being.
My Background
I completed my studies at the University of Surrey, earning both a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Occupational Psychology.
My academic journey has been fueled by a deep passion for understanding the human mind, which has led me to work in various research and clinical settings. I’ve delved into areas like neuroscience, childhood development, mental disorders, and personality, while also exploring the real-world applications of psychology in organizations.
My experience extends to driving cultural and behavioral change within FTSE100 companies, bridging the gap between employee well-being and corporate success.
I am a also published researcher in the field of psychology. If you are interested in my work in the field of stressful life events and the onset of physical symptoms, such as fibromyalgia and chronic pain, you can read it here.
My Spiritual Healing Journey
As a psychologist, I spent years delving into the intricacies of the human mind, behavior, and emotional well-being. Yet, there came a point when I felt there was something deeper to explore — something beyond the frameworks of traditional psychology.
My spiritual journey began during a particularly challenging time in my life. I had been navigating personal transitions, and despite having all the psychological tools, I felt there was a missing link to achieving true balance and healing. That’s when I started exploring alternative healing practices — initially out of curiosity, but soon I realized the profound impact they had on my well-being.
With time, I have gradually been exploring different holistic approaches. I started with sound healing, mindfulness-based spirituality, and more recently yoga and energy work. These practices opened me up to the idea that wellness isn’t just about mental or physical health, but the harmony between mind, body, and spirit.
Over time, I integrated these spiritual teachings with my psychological knowledge. This combination allowed me to experience healing on a new level, and I now aim to share this journey with others who may be seeking deeper meaning and balance in their own lives.
Fun & Interests
Outside of my professional life, I’m passionate about staying active and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
You’ll often find me at the gym, pushing myself with workouts and exploring new nutrition regimens to stay fit and balanced. Squash is one of my favorite ways to blow off steam—it’s fast-paced, fun, and keeps me in shape.
I’m also an avid traveler with an insatiable curiosity for exploring the world. Traveling always lifts my mood and reminds me of the beauty and diversity out there.
My love for animals is undeniable, and as a dedicated dog lover, I even dog-sit as a hobby! I find joy in connecting with animals and exploring pet psychology in my spare time.
Recently, I took the plunge—quite literally—into the world of scuba diving. Now a qualified diver, I’ve found peace and serenity in underwater exploration. There’s something deeply therapeutic about the calm of the ocean, and it’s become one of my favorite ways to recharge.
